Friday perambulations

After Alix and Max left for work/school this morning, I suggested to Kira that we might want to go the library. "NO! No go Library!", said Kira. "Why not?" I inquired. "No like library. Go 'seum!"

So, we went to the museum. I packed the Ergo in my backback along with snacks and other necessities, and Kira hopped onto her push bike:

Kira road her bike from our house to the bus stop, and then from Charles St. station to the Museum of Science. We passed by a few groups of people who were all terribly impressed by Kira's bicycle riding! Kira was fascinated by the Charles ("there's the Charles River!"), and we saw a school of large fish basking just below the surface.

At the museum we visited the live animal exhibit (where we saw a ferret, a meerkat, a rabbit, a glass lizard, and a duck) and the discovery room (where we saw frog, played with the water, and Kira participated in an experiment by trying to put together a puzzle).

Kira road her push-bike from the museum to Lechmere station, and we caught the bus to pick up Max at preschool. After meeting up with Max, Kira went into the Ergo on my front, my backpack went on my back, and Max got on the push bike. A flaw in this plan: while Kira rides at a fast walking pace, Max is a speed daemon, and it's very hard to jog with bags fore and aft! So we made good time home.

Hopefully they're both tuckered out and will have a good long nap!
